Rosie's Organic Farm - Gainesville - Alachua County - Florida

What Is A Share/What Is The Cost?
Every week during our season ( January through June and November through December - about 32 weeks) a member will receive a bag of varied, fresh vegetables which will often include specialty items such as culinary herbs, gourmet salad greens and ethnic vegetables. This "share " represents about 8 different items which vary in weight depending on the season. A full share will meet the needs of 2 vegetable lovers or an average family of four at a cost of $500. Flower shares are available on a seasonal basis and are an additional cost.

Half Shares Are Also Available
A limited number of half shares are available: 4- 5 items weekly for $275. This is suitable for smaller families or for those who eat out frequently. When half shares are sold out we encourage new members who can not use a full share, to split a full share with a friend. This plan has worked well for members who benefit from the increased variety of a full share and the opportunity to alternate weekly pickup of produce if desired.

Risks
Members of a CSA choose to be involved in the production of their food. By so doing, they share the benefits of fresh food along with the risks of variable weather and a reduced harvest. Experienced CSAs report that diversified cropping and wise growing practices minimize the risk of severe losses.
